Attention Dell Studio XPS 435MT owners: Dell released a recommended BIOS update on February 24, 2009 – v.1.0.8. It appears the new BIOS has been updated to “support XP downgrade” and also includes the following fixes/enhancements:
1.New Dell BIOS Splash Screen.
2.Change the error messages when no bootable devices in the system.
Installation instructions: Head on over to support.dell.com, enter your machine’s express service code, download the file, and run the executable.

Because windows Vista was such a failure, microsoft has decided to release Vista 2, AKA Windows 7. This is suppose to be Vista without all of the bugs. If you just wait a little longer, you don’t have to downgrade to XP. What a joke microsoft has turned into. No wonder they are having layoffs.

as a current Dimension 8300 owner, thinking about getting this machine I have a question. How bad is the noise? I think the 8300 has been way to noisy (yet I’ve lived with it for over 5 years now), is this one more quiet?

@br0kenpipe: I also owned an 8300 for the last 5 years before upgrading to the 435MT. However, my 8300 has and continues to run almost silently so I’m not sure how to respond. The 435MT has a definite fan noise/drone when under “normal use” and can get considerably louder under any system load (i.e. video encoding). With that said, I still think (personally) that the performance is a worthwhile trade off to the noise…
I purchased the xps 435 mt I find the noise level just a little bit loud. I have had a problem with the boot up. Right after the Dell Screen I receive an error message “Check Point Error.
I have contact Dell Support and they have gone the extra mile to resolve the problem. After receiving the error at least three time during the last week Dell has recommended that they replace the HD and Motherboard this will be done this week hopefully this resolve the probelm.
Has anyoner else had this probelm?

I have update my bios to 1.08 but now when my computer start i have a blackscreen after the logo of vista . this blackscreen lasts 2 min : / and after the computer become normal =)

I use Bios 1.08 with Windows 7. No problem at all. The xps 435 mt is a bit noisy when starting up the pc, but i dont think it is worse than other pc i have.
