Optimize Firefox’s browsing screen-space with Fireline – a (self-named) cocktail of experimental FF ext. Hide Caption, add-on Tiny Menu, and a few other tweaks.
The resulting FF window is incredibly streamlined with a single, multi-faceted toolbar on top (see above). With or without the bookmarks toolbar and/or bottom status bar open, Fireline creates more room for web content while eliminating unnecessary dead space.

Nice. While this does help, and it seems like Firefox is setup to initially do real well in terms of memory performance, even with the latest release (3.5) and no add-ons, I’m still experiencing major leaks.
I replaced Firefox with Opera a few weeks back and love it – have no intention of going back to Fox.
