20th Annual Bridge School Benefit

Starting and ending with Neil Young, the 2006 Bridge School Benefit @ Shoreline provided a great, eclectic mix of music. The lineup included:

Trent Reznor was the most interesting act of the day (expecting some bizarre/creepy tracks) and delivered a few NIN songs accompanied by a number of orchestral musicians.

Death Cab offered some catchy tunes…

Brian Wilson…um…did not sound too hot…

Pearl Jam was excellent, playing a random set including Better Man, and collaborated with “Uncle Neil” on Throw Your Hatred Down.

DMB played expected songs including Warehouse and Ants…and a solid Cortez, the Killer with Neil Young.

10 hours after opening the benefit, Neil Young closed the show playing a number of crowd favorites…ending with Rockin’ in the Free World featuring Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, and most of the rest of the benefit artists.

Not too shabby for $39.50 (plus all the TicketBastard surcharges)…
